Validating your community concept
You’ve got a big idea to bring together your fellow clients, customers, audience, friends, peers, or special interest groups inside an online community.
Hopefully, you have conducted some discovery interviews or surveys and identified the problem these “ideal members” have and how you can help them inside an online community.
A community brings these people together to help them transform their personal or professional lives and relationships or reach goals they have yet to achieve independently.
Using the notes, feedback, and observing your “ideal members” during interviews, surveys, or focus groups, you can take that data to put together what you’ve learned for what will work for your community structure.
Good ways to get validation for your idea
Idea validation is a significant part of the Customer Development framework, which Steve Blank, the godfather of Silicon Valley, developed.
Along with validating an idea, a wanna-be-successful founder must also validate the buyer and the market. There are three ways to do so. Use Proof of Concept, prototyping, or MVP.
