The three things you need to start a small but mighty community:

    • A desire to gather others around a topic, interest, or challenge.

    • A group of 3-15 people willing to meet consistently for a period, which you can define based on your understanding of the group.

    • A place to gather can be anything from a coffee shop to a Zoom call.

Tips to identify your ideal community structure

      • Your bandwidth to lead, host, develop, market, promote, and grow.

      • Start with either a networking focus, a support focus, or a learning focus (but not all of them, and not at the same time)

      • Consider who could be able to support you in this adventure. Who’s someone with a passion for connection and would be interested in partnering with you to co-host events or develop some programming from their life experiences?

Best practices for creating psychological safety

        • Earn your members’ trust by showing up authentically.

        • Define what the purpose of the group is and what you’ll be talking about.

        • Share vulnerability as a leader and it will inspire your members to see you, and in turn, they will feel that they can be their authentic selves since you’ve modeled this for them. Starting Small – Building a close-knit community that encourages connection
