Ebook: A Guide to creating a monthly content calendar

New Ebook

This ebook is designed to help business owners create a content calendar for social media, or an online community, or a blog schedule. It is up to the reader to decide on what kind of content you’ll be scheduling and how, but this guide will give you some tips, ideas, and templates to start making your business marketing plans more organized. I’m so excited you are here because I know where you are going, and I’ve been where you are. The truth is I’ve been writing blogs for over a decade. In that time, I’ve learned a lot about creating online content.

For starters, I’ll give some basic definitions of the terms we will focus on for this guide.

  • Content can refer to any written, visual, or audio material you plan to use.

  • Social media describes platforms that have become necessary for any business to promote its products and services.

  • Social listening describes digital software that monitors and analyzes specific content on social media to improve customer or client satisfaction.

A content calendar is a schedule that aligns a specific date with a piece of content that will be published on a specific platform. Traditionally, you’ll view a calendar with thirty (or thirty-one) squares.

This is one option to create a content calendar if you are a visual learner. Before you go off and create pretty-looking calendars, the tips provided in this guide will help you build a framework before you set up your calendar. Consider who will be in charge of this calendar and include them in the process (if it isn’t you).

This guide has three steps;

  1. Step One – Identify the goal of your content

  2. Step Two – Decide on the platform for your content

  3. Step Three – Create your monthly content calendar for your business.

Each step will help you evaluate your goals, decide on what’s necessary, and move forward with a plan to take action. This guide can be used for many different purposes, but here are the four specific use cases:

A Blog – This guide can be used to identify your focus for each month.

A Podcast – This guide can be used to recruit guests or record specific podcast episodes.

Social Media – This guide can be used to create a social media strategy for your business.

Online Community – This guide can help you design the member experience and determine the content that will engage and inspire member participation.
