Validation

You’ve got a big idea to bring together your fellow clients, customers, audience, friends, peers, or special interest groups inside an online community.

Hopefully, you have done some discovery interviews or surveys and have identified the problem that these “ideal members” have, and a way that you can help them inside an online community.

A community brings these people together to help them transform their personal or professional lives and relationships or reach goals that they haven’t been able to achieve independently.

Using the notes, feedback, and observing your “ideal members” during interviews, surveys, or focus groups, you can take that data to put together what you’ve learned for what will work for your community structure.

Good ways to get validation for your idea

Idea validation is a significant part of the Customer Development framework. It was developed by a godfather of Silicon Valley, Steve Blank.

Along with validating an idea, a wanna-be-successful founder also needs to validate the buyer and the market. There are 3 ways to do so. Use Proof of Concept, prototyping, or MVP.
