On the last Tuesday of each month, I host a book club meetup and open discussion for all Community Builders with Purpose members to discuss Creator to Community Builder.
The focus of this discussion for August is Launch Your Community.
This is an excellent time for discussing launches, as you might be getting ready to launch a program, course, or membership. Some clients I work with start with a soft or slow launch, bringing people inside in phases. The phases will depend on the audience size, the program structure, and the available resources.
Some call this a beta launch or even an alpha launch, but it means that you will segment your audience on a sliding scale from most to least interested. The most interested group will be your ideal members. They’ve already said they’re interested in what you are creating, so they will be a great place to start.
Selling a community idea involves convincing people to invest their time, money, and energy and asking them to do so for a set amount of time. I recommend asking five to ten of your ideal members to join a structured program that lasts thirty to ninety days. This will be an excellent time to test your content and structure and gain insights into member experience.
