😂 Happy World Laughter Day!

Hi, Reader,

Of all the communities worldwide that meet digitally or in person, one has been celebrating a global movement since 1998: laughter yoga. Although laughter doesn’t fit in a box, it can be added to your daily routine to bring more joy.

The best part about laughter is that it’s always with you and can bring happiness. Visualizing laughter usually includes hearing giggling and chuckles between friends, family, or partners or at a comedy show until Laughter Yoga, which developed in 1995, became a global movement.

Dr. Kataria, a medical doctor from India, discovered a pathway to laughter’s profound benefits through simple exercises and communal joy. Dr. Kataria, his wife Madhuri, and three of their best friends started the first laughter social club in a local park.

World Laughter Day, held on the first Sunday of May, is an annual celebration of unity and positivity. It harnesses the collective laughter of communities worldwide to radiate messages of love, kindness, and compassion.

Laughter Yoga is based on research that shows the body can’t distinguish between real and fake laughter. Laughing with others fosters a spirit of togetherness, where participants laugh with each other, creating an atmosphere of shared joy and support.

To get the physiological benefits of laughter, a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes unlocks overall well-being. Not all laughter counts; belly laughs and deep breathing combine to maximize the therapeutic effects on the body and mind.

Have you laughed today? If not, here’s a video 😉

I hope you have a great week!
